Definately not a meadow lark-- the bird is too small.

Gold finch-- if it is a gold finch it has the most beautiful song. Very distinguishing characteristic. How big was it? Gold finches are about 5 inches. meadow larks about 9.5 inches. I love goldfinches. They are so beautiful-- those blue birds are too.

Jeff and I realy like National geographics Field Guide to Birds of north America to help us identify various birds.

Those picks are beautiful-- makes me want a Digital SLR....I miss all the great birds you can see in warm moist climates.

jeff thinks it is some type of warbler. maybe pine warbler-- it would help if we could see the beak.

fun photos!

Hi Nancy,
I always love visiting the Henry Homestead via Emerald Lane. I wanted to invite you and Jay to the English Country Ball, but my email bounced back. Could you send me a note so I can resend to your current address. Thanks! Great pictures!!!

WOW!!! What great pics you guys have. I haven't seen the woodpeckers yet! I've just located a bird that I've been hearing that sounds like a duck, but looks like a crow. I should take a pic and try to identify it! We're putting out our hummingbird feeders soon!
