Outdoor Prints

One of my favorite blogs, that I frequent daily, gave me the inspiration to head outside for some watercolor printing. Her post has great pictures with step by step instructions on how to actually make the prints. So check it out and spend some time at her blog and vote for her too for best Homeschool Blog!
It was funny because, on this particular day, I asked the boys if they wanted to go outside and paint with me. They weren’t interested, so I picked up my handy metal caddy (remember from this post) that was stocked with the watercolor supplies and a pad of paper and headed outside. Then, I gathered some leaves and sat myself down on the driveway and got to work. One by one they came out to see what I was doing and joined in. Now, it could have gone in a totally different direction, which has happened in the past. I could have gotten upset that they didn’t want to do what I thought was a great idea and just given up. But, by going ahead and starting the process they were able to see it and then decide if they wanted to join in or not. What a concept. Has anyone had this experience with their children or students? Or, if not, try it and let me know how it goes.

ah, yay! and thank you so much for your kind words :^)
is there *anything* you can do that doesn’t draw children to you like flies? the only thing that would work better is if you genuinely wanted to do it by yourself. ;^)
you need to add your pictures to the camp creek flickr group!! :^)
