Phase two complete

Day two of our tree fort building was a success. While the boys played on the framework of the fort, I prepared the scrap wood for the platform and removed the old tacks. The platform was formed with some old fencing and screwed in place. Then, I was determined to use the skill saw which I could not turn on and had to make a call to the hubby for instuctions. After the call I was ready for the challenge and I did it. Yes Mom, I was careful!

:: Progress after the first day
:: Hanging out above while I was working
:: Taking a break once the platform was complete
:: The addition of a bucket on a string for getting supplies to the top
:: Finally, a rope for swinging
Now, it’s time to play. Have a great weekend!

My boys want a tree house. it’s too bad that we don’t have very many trees. Nor am I sure I could use a saw– you are a good Mom!
i’m really impressed. we have had *plans* to make a treehouse for years but haven’t managed it. this year we swore we would do it in the fall. why does fall seem to pass by in just a few brief sunny moments?
the wood is in a pile and the tree is surrounded with weeds…
Y’all have such a fun house and great “backyard” for kids. Good job, carpenter mom!
