:1: The Beginnings of a tree fort.
:2: Climbing, which inspired the tree fort.
:3: Sketching with coffee while climbing boys planned tree fort.
We headed out the door armed with boots, coffee, and our birding backpack ready for a nature hike.
Yet, we didn’t make it very far before the boys started playing on their own with sticks and climbing.
So, I plopped myself down and sketched while Erin kept herself busy with some cars.
Before I knew it we were heading out to the barn for supplies; a hammer, nails, a saw and some wood. We rummaged through the scrap wood pile, courtesy of the former chicken tractors. Let me tell you, we made out. There were some 2×4′s which were perfect for the beginnings of a fine tree fort.
So far there are two steps up and some frame work ready for the platform. Stay tuned for an update including some pictures of the progress……

What fun!
I hope all is well with all of you!
I finally discovered “Google Reader” and subscribed to your blog that way (though I may be terrible about commenting…..we shall see). Now I’ll be able to keep up to date in a timely manner.
we talk about doing this every year, but fall is so short and it always seems like the snow flies before we do anything more than draw a lot of plans.
we have a big pile of old lumber that’s rotting by the barn that would be perfect for a treehouse, too.
