Twirling

This sweet little girl has her first dress-up outfit.  A soft pink, fluffy tutu.

For a while now, she has been wearing her brothers’ cowboy hats, capes and slashing around with their swords.

Now, she can T-W-I-R-L and leave those guns and swords behind.  Just maybe!

When I was at the cutting table buying the tulle, the kind lady gave me advice on the yardage I needed and described how to make the tutu.  Then, I googled “how to make a tutu with strips” for the directions.  I found this one and this one helpful.

Overall, it was simple and little sewing needed, just for the elastic.  I ended up using 5 yards of tulle on her skirt and it’s quite fluffy.  I think that it would work with 4 yards as well.

Oh, making things for a girl is such fun.  I also have plans for some type of dress or princess cape out of pink satin!
