R & R

We’re back into the rhythm of our daily life after a great weekend away, just the two of us. We owe a big thanks to my parents for taking all three little ones. It is so nice to get a break from reality and the day to day, even if it’s short lived. I even convinced Jay to get a pedicure with me, what a man!
We enjoyed the beach, the pool, some tennis, good food and drinks. There was lots of talk about our upcoming school year, about goals and priorities and actual plans for study and activities.
Overall, the time away gave me some new motivation and energy toward my job as a wife, mother, educator, etc. It is a nice feeling indeed!

This inspired me! I surprised Paul for his birthday with a “staycation.” I had the kids all shuttled off to his mom’s for the weekend before he got home from work one friday and a note saying that his birthday present was in our room (wink wink) He didn’t stop smiling for hours and said I can do the same thing for every birthday! =) I had been thinking about it for weeks, but I have such a hard time letting the kids sleep over anywhere but home. Even with family. But the Lord just kept showing me friends, who I respect, doing just that. So I finally gave in and decided to put Paul first and let him know that he was number one to me. Our last hurrah before Charlie gets here. Anyway, so thanks for sharing!
