There’s a four year old in the house.  Well, he claims he’s six, because six is the oldest number out there according to him.  So, I guess we’ll be referring to him as our six year old for the next two years.  His birthday was yesterday and we celebrated all day.  First there was a trip to McDonalds for a birthday breakfast, since I was rushing out to the grocery for some last minute dinner items.  Then, it was off to Oma and Opa’s for a birthday lunch and swimming with the cousins and a yummy spiderweb cake.  After that, we had a taco party with some friends and more family with presents and cupcakes and lots of playing.

Jay and I are off to Amelia Island this weekend for our annual tri-annual getaway, hoping it will be annual from now on.  I’m really looking forward to this time to relax, unwind and refresh.  We plan on sitting by the pool, swimming in the ocean and doing some planning for the coming year.  This fall marks our official plunge into homeschooling.  I’ve been “nesting” around the house reorganizing our setup in preparation for this fall I guess.  The baby girl now has a table at her height to play so she doesn’t climb on the dining table or the craft table.  I also brought some toys down from upstairs and they acutally are getting some use.

Now I’m off to pack.  I’ll be back with some pictures from our weekend!

Free Food

When your bored and have nothing better to do, dress-up like cows and go out to lunch.

That’s just what we did, but our motivation wasn’t just for fun.  It was for the free food!

July 11th was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a and if you dressed like a cow from head to hoof you got a free combo.

We spent the morning getting our costumes together, we used paper and printed some templates off the Chic-fil-a website.

After all the preparation, it was time to herd my “herd” to the trough. While I was in the parking lot I did get some comments about my herd, like “Are you going to be able to herd those cows in there?”  Real funny!  I hope we were able to put a smile on someone’s face that day!
