Another week or two

Week 15 - All Outdoors

Days seem to go by and I’ve had no time to sit and share in this little space.  I’ve been adding pictures to Flickr and keeping up with the Six One Way group.  I added this set for the week.  Outdoors is still our favorite place to be these days.  If you are interested in making some yummy popsicles, you’ve gotta try these:

Homemade Fruit Yogurt Pops

Fresh Fruit (Blackberries -shown in picture, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, etc.)

Plain Yogurt

Powdered Sugar

Quantities: varies based on molds, in other words, just wing it!
Blend all the ingredients and pour into popsicle molds and freeze.  Enjoy outside!

What we do

1.Swimming – time in the pool on Mother’s Day.

2. Reading – to a captive audience.

3. Making – pretending to be indians.

the wedding

P5100040

Here is a rare photo of me and my husband of almost 9 years-I can’t believe that.  This is from my nephew’s wedding from last weekend, which was held at my sister’s almost finished new house.  The wedding was lots of fun, the DJ was really good and got everyone to dance, guys too not just the girls.

There are deer in the backyard.  Sean took this picture,  I think he took the one of the pond as well.  We were feeding the deer grapes and apples, yet Erin thought the grapes were for her.

Nature in Spring

Here are the ducks that are sharing a nest, you remember, the one that sneaky snake tried to invaid.  Yep, this is it and if everything works out, we’ll have lots of baby ducks running around.

All outdoors

Week 13

Here’s a look at another week.  Ian sanding the picnic table, Erin’s little hand picking a blueberry and Erin and I on a walk.  Check out more here.

The Very Educated Caterpillar

It’s hard to see, but there is a nice little pupa hanging from the top of the screen.  It is another monarch butterfly, like the one we had one last year.  Grammie brought over the largest catepilar I’d ever seen and the next day it was busy forming it’s outter shell called a pupa/chyrsalis.  I really wanted to see what it looked like while it was changing from a catepillar to a pupa, but it was so fast and we caught it a little late, but we did see some change.  The butterfly should emerge 10-15 days from May 5th and we’ll have some pictures to share then of our spring butterfly.

For now, I’ll leave you with a picture of Ian reading to the pupa, The Very Hungry Catepillar.  He read it on his own without my help, very exciting and I’m sure it helped the little guy not be so bored.

Spring Goodness

Spring blueberries from Aunt Leslee’s new Farm, Kellerosa!  We’ve already made pancakes, muffins and a blueberry pineapple upside-down cake with these fresh blueberries.  I also found a recipe for a blueberry compote to go on top of french toast.  I think we’ll have that for Saturday breakfast – Yummy!
