Nature Tote

Okay, I’m not going to go on about how long it’s been since I’ve posted. I know you all are sick of seeing the same pictures and have probably stopped checking to see if I’ve posted lately. So, I’m just going to say we’ve had great weather and I’ve joined the local YMCA and leave it at that.
This Nature Tote was inspired by the need to use the new fabric that a sweet friend brought back from a trip to NYC. She visited this really great store and was so kind to think of me and bring me back some lovely fabric. Thank you, thank you! Also, I’ve been reading this really cool blog which is all about education, specifically the home variety and art. So, I love checking in for some good inspiration. Anyway, Lori over at Camp Creek Press invited the readers to join her in a nature journaling project and the first step was to make a field bag. This one is made out of an old pair of child’s corduroy overalls and the afore mentioned fabric from here. It was fun making this tote because it did not come from a pattern. I just started cutting up the overalls and working with the new fabric and this is what I came up with. There is also a zippered pouch for pencils and supplies. I’ll make two more, one for me and one for Ian . Sean gets this one because he is always pretending he’s a robot!
Happy Monday and I hope it isn’t two weeks again until my next post!

i just love how your tote turned out! i love working without a pattern, too. actually, i pretty much can only work without a pattern. ;^)
