sky, firsts and cuteness

I’m not always grateful that I have the privelage to stay home with my children, well I’m hardly ever. But, when we have a day like yesterday my heart just oozes with gratitude for the chance to share in the moments of my children’s lives and enjoy the beauty around me. We were outside and I looked up and saw this. It made me run in a grab my camera. I wanted to capture the beauty that I saw with my eyes. I’m still learning how to use my little point and shoot and really this picture does not do it (the sky) justice. The white/gray branches almost look like they are covered with ice. A girl from Florida can dream can’t she?

Then, as if the day was not already pretty cool. Ian decided he was going to teach himself how to ride his new (to him) bike without training wheels. We worked with Ian a few weeks ago on his old bike, which is a little larger and he was so scared he was crying after the first try. So, when we were given this bike from some friends I was surprised to see him pick it up and start riding it on his own. He was so excited and thrilled that he was able to do it himself, he looked 5 to me and the little baby in him was gone. I know, it’s just a bike, he’s not driving a car by himself, but it’s just one of those milestones that made me proud but sad. There.
This little guy derserved a spot on the blog today because he’s just so darn cute. After eating some pudding, note the chocolate pudding on his shirt, he grabbed some grapes from inside and gave me this cute smirk and tilted his head just right once he noticed I had the camera and there you have it a picture of Sean holding some grapes.
I was sitting next to Sean while he was drawing and I noticed his hand in his jeans’ pocket. He loves his pockets and you can find him walking around with both hands in his pockets. He just looked too cool and relaxed while he was drawing I couldn’t resist snapping a shot of him.
Enjoy your weekend!
