Our Day

Here is a glance at our Tuesday in pictures. A trip to the lake, the park, some time playing with army men and drawing. Click on the pictures to read more under each picture; I wrote about a few in Flickr.
In other news, I’ve been sewing here and there over the past few weeks. I’m working on some dresses for Erin. Think Valentine’s Day and pantaloones! I finished a shirt for myself that I started last summer. I wore it today even though I’m sure it’s more appropriate for Spring, but heck, we live in Florida and it’s practically Spring-like here already.
Jay gave me a gift certificate for Christmas for a personal color consultation. You know, to determine what colors to look for when buying clothes, make-up and the such, it’s back from the 50′s or 60′s. I’m a warm spring and now I’m armed with my own color wand to use when I go shopping. Can you just see me whipping out my wand and comparing it to the clothes? Which is exactly what I did today- I felt like a total dork, but I got a really cute sweater that goes with my skin tone. I was surprised to find out that most of the shirts in my closet are within my color range, so I haven’t been that far off.
No big plans for the weekend, just plan on watching the big game on Sunday with some friends. Happy Friday!

Hey Nance,
I just caught up on you all and had to comment. As I began reading about the milk glass I was getting ready to tell you to ask Helen about Grandma’s milk glass. As I read on I was so glad to see that you found it. Grandma loved collecting it and I am so glad you are enjoying it.
Love the tangerine tree. I love to find multiple uses for things that are a big surprise. It is part of living the simple life.
The kids all look wonderful. Thanks for including some of Grace’s kids in the pix.
I had my colors done about 20 years ago and I could have told you what you were. I even had a color wheel which I left in a store once. I’m a summer so learned that I needed to stop wearing beige.
Okay, love you all.
