Five

Every year I stress out about what to do for the birthday celebrations. I love to plan and have people over and do the theme with the decorations and the cake and the games, but I’ve realized that I just can’t do all that and it’s more fun to spend time together than to worry about all that other stuff. We celebrated last night with the birthday boy’s dinner of choice which was soup with bread and butter. Then we enjoyed some fireworks with names like “Mother Nature” and “Waterworks” which all seemed to do the same thing, but we had fun in expectation of what they might be like and just saying the names over and over again with enthusiasm. “Oh boy, here comes Mother Nature, it’s bigger it’s badder it’s MOTHER NATURE.” That’s how it went down. Sparklers, yes those too!

{Five? How did that happen?}
Today, the actual day of Ian’s birth, I took him to The Cummer Museum of Art where he, his brother and his cousins scared all the museum staff by getting way too close to the art. After a few of the galleries we let them run in the gardens, where they were able to paint and then they explored the hands-on children’s area.

Thanks for sharing some cake! The names of the fireworks cracks me up. It is true, they do end up looking all the same.
