10 Things

Today was one of those days that I just wish I could re-do. I had a few meltdowns, the kind that my two-year old usually throws. I know it comes from doing too much and being tired and just having high expectations of myself and my children. I just wonder why I have to go through it? Why can’t I learn to act like a grown up when I’m stressed or too tired to deal? I’m sure there is some growing going on inside and later, maybe next week or even a year from now I’ll look back and realize how silly I was and laugh at myself. But for now the wounds are too fresh and real and I just need to heal some and share.
The house is quiet now, it’s late and the boys are watching a movie. It’s my night to put the boys to bed, so I took the easy route and put in a movie. I’ve been browsing some blogs and came across this post about 10 Things. Things that we are grateful for or happy about. I started thinking about my day and if there was anything about it that I’m thankful or grateful for?
Here it goes:
- A home that I can rearrange whenever I want.
- A husband that loves to play Legos as much or more than the boys.
- A baby that smiles at me when I look at her.
- Friends that are honest.
- NY style pizza takeout.
- Naptime for me and the babes.
- Krispy Kreme doughnuts for breakfast.
- Friends that are positive.
- A call from a sister just when I needed it.
- Quiet time at night to write out some thoughts.

Hey Nancy,
Thanks for your honesty…I, too, was thankful for Eva’s post and it’s nice to hear we’re not alone! I hope today is better for you and I think it’s really gracious the Lord led you to name some things you are thankful for…I need to do that more often!
Love you!
Oh sweetheart this was so touching and genuine it made me want to come right back there and HUG you! I’d say you handled some of those tough parts of your day today in just the right way and I commend you for that. The hard days will come, but you’ve reminded me and anyone else reading this that there is good in everything.
{{BIG HUG FOR YOU}}
