I’ve written many times about Ian’s love for art and drawing here on the blog, but now I must write about another artist in the house. Sean is now loving to draw. He draws on the white board, on himself, with crayons and he’s always up for painting.

I’m just so excited that Sean has something else other than the TV to keep him occupied for more than 2 minutes! No really, that is great and all, but the real thing is he is starting to create, which is very exciting. It is so neat to see him making shapes and giving them names or telling me that he just drew a “scary monster” or a “pickle” or whatever his little imagination comes up with.

Note from the writer: This post is all over the place with long run on sentences, so please forgive me in advance for my lack of concentration and time!!
Our days are longer and hotter now, so time in the pool and indoors has become a must. We’ve been hanging out at the library and enjoying the summer programs they offer as well as swimming almost daily in the pool next door. The heat during the afternoon hours is pretty intense so it’s the pool or a movie inside after quiet/nap time. I haven’t had time or the motivation to craft lately so this blog is still all about the family life, which I’m sure some of you are interested in. For those of you who are here for the craftiness, sorry it’s hard work getting everyone dressed, fed and out the door for an activity and then back for lunch, by then I’m ready for a nap as well and that is just what I’ve been doing; if I can squeeze one in before the baby wakes. I’m sure I’ll get inspired soon by a project and have to skip on some sleep for some crafty time!

Sometimes titles can be really difficult to come up with, especially when there is sooo much to write about due to a lack of posting. Anyway, this title has to do with Baby Erin and her new found interest in toys. Yep, she is already at that stage. Time truly is flying, even though there are days I feel like it’s standing still, but that’s another post. I just put her on the floor with a few toys and she turns herself around in circles going from toy to toy. In this picture she is facinated by the See ‘n Say and she kept reaching for the turning arrow and spinning it. If only we were all that easily entertained!

Howdy folks! The past few weeks have been a blur for us. After a week at VBS, I volunteered, Ian was in the Pre-school program, Sean joined the fun in the nursery and Baby Girl tagged along and helped me with the crafts. My niece joined us for VBS as well and stayed with us for the week; she was a great help and the boys had much fun with her making waffles, swimming and playing legos!

I turned a year older on the 9th and had a great birthday! I celebrated with my little family at home, then with some friends, a dinner out with my husband, and at the beach with my extended family, thanks Sister! Yep, 4 nights at the beach was just what we all needed. There is something therapeutic about the beach; that time in the evening after you’ve had a shower and the sun is setting behind you and the children are so worn out from playing all day that they fall asleep before dinner and sleep through the night.
