working and having fun
| September 18, 2006 | Posted by nancy under CREATE, FAMILY |
Our weekend was all about working on Saturday, with a little fun and then all fun on Sunday. We all worked around the house, doing some chicken tractor maintainence, cleaning up the yard, and washing off the porches. During all that work, the boys were occupied with the sprinkler, but discovered it was more fun to roll in black dirt and run around the yard, so I had them help me was the cars so I could spray them off with the hose. Sunday we spent time with some friends showing them around and letting them check out the animals and collect eggs. That’s always fun for the little ones. We went swimming and just enjoyed the last bit of summer we have left. I’ll miss summer, but I am looking forward to some cooler weather now that I’m 6 months pregnant and growing larger everyday.
Today, Ian wanted to make decorations for his birthday party, which will be in December, so we spent hours playing with paper while Sean took a 4 hour nap. He was sooo tired from the weekend I let him sleep, since he threw a nice tantrum on the way home from storytime at the library. I had seen this great article on paper cutting in October’s issue of Better Homes and Gardens (www.bhg.com) and wanted to try some for myself.
We had so much fun, I couldn’t stop cutting and got so giddy, it was weird. I searched for ideas online and found patterns on this site, http://www.papersnowflakes.com/ . (There is a website for everything.) I told Jay that I might have found a new hobby and his reply was, “OH NO!” No I won’t stop sewing but I do have ideas for gifts, just wait and see! Ian drew little faces on the pumpkins and then drew his own pumpkins on the yellow paper. Sorry for the bad picture, but I took it tonight and didn’t want to wait for daylight.
P.S. I don’t want to complain, but i’ve noticed a slight decline in comments. Not sure if it’s a glitch with the new blog or if noone is reading or maybe everyone is really, really busy and they don’t have time to comment. Anyway, I have the blog first and foremost to keep in touch with friends and family, then to show off my creations as a business marketing thing, since I don’t have time to do it any other way and finally because I can. So, if you can comment please let me know it works and if I don’t know you let me know who you are and how you found this blog. Just interested! Oh, and this other blog I read asked for visitors to leave a comment and there are about 74 comments to that post and there used to be about 12 comments or less per post. Okay, I’m done complaining and feeling like a looser!

Hey girl! Your boys look like they had lots of fun! How have you been feeling? I can’t believe that you are already 6 months. I’m coming in town on Friday. I decied to just have a little party with my family since the Metro Park idea didn’t go over very well with my dad and his family. I will do my best to come by but I’m not sure if I’ll get a chance. Eric’s family is coming into town and we will probably try to spend all our time with then since they don’t see Evan very often. I’ll call you at least! Keep up the blogging because I like checking it out. I check it every day!!
Love ya,
allison
I always check your blog, don’t worry! I’ll try and comment more. You guys are so creative!
Nancy,
I’m sorry I have not been commenting more but I see you every day!
You are right though, comments make it more fun and helps us all to stay more connected.
the pics are great…
love, mom
Hi Nancy!
Sorry, I haven’t been commenting much but I do look at your blog almost every day to see what’s new & if you’ve finished any new crafty projects! I do appreciate your comments you’ve shared on our blog, you are one of the few who do comment so I completely know the feeling. I have been busy with work, and then craft projects for birthdays coming up….which I should probably be working on one right now. Thank you for the reminder on the comments, we really enjoy being connected with the blogs.
A little feedback on the comment text box…it seems to get wider & then the text doesn’t wrap when you reach the right margin…not sure quite how to explain it…
Love all the photos! That baby girl nursery is looking pretty for the special girl!
God Bless!
Laura
Nancy,
I read your blog faithfully, but I’m often too busy to take the time to comment. I love the pictures of the boys and PJ ALWAYS loves seeing them too…he will be most impressed with the snake you all found in the garden! (He’s sleeping now, actually they both are which is why I can COMMENT!)
Oh, I want to see pictures of your cute little self…six months pregnant! I can’t believe your six months along already… I’m always looking for little girl things here for you. =)
Love you all…don’t stopp blogging!
Yet another busy reader heard from. I really do know how it feels to blog with no feedback. I have truly been too busy to even write on my own blog let along comment on others. I do read it frequently though and love the feeling that I am in touch with you.
Sorry, Nancy…you couldn’t be a loser even if you tried really really hard!
Love your posts! And the pictures too! That paper cutting looks oh so tempting! (But I’ve got mittens to finish)
